Child Center of Pennsylvania Honors Brian Houchins with Community Recognition Award

The Child Center of Pennsylvania is proud to announce Brian Houchins of Mechanicsburg because the recipient of the 2023 Community Recognition Award. This prestigious award is offered annually to a person who has demonstrated distinctive dedication to enhancing the lives of children in our neighborhood.

Brian Houchins , a devoted elementary school trainer and community volunteer, has been an unwavering advocate for children’s education and welfare. Over the past ten years, his efforts have significantly impacted the lives of countless children in Mechanicsburg and surrounding areas. Houchins’ initiatives embrace establishing a free after-school tutoring program for underprivileged students, weekend workshops focusing on literacy and numeracy expertise for at-risk youth, and main a profitable community-driven campaign to upgrade native playgrounds, making certain secure and inclusive play areas for all kids.
The award ceremony might be held on January 15, 2024, on the Mechanicsburg Community Center. The occasion will function speeches from native dignitaries, a presentation about Houchins’ contributions, and the award presentation.
